Pauline 'Polly' (Hill) Craig

Pauline “Polly” Craig, daughter of the late Ross and Claire (Crabtree) Hill, was born on July 21, 1929 in Raymondville, Missouri, and departed this life on December 29, 2012 in her home in Nixa, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family at 83 years of age.
Polly grew up in Raymondville and was united in marriage to Ewell Clinton “Dave” Craig on August 10, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri. Three children, Retha, Nancy, and David, were born to this union.
Polly and Dave were longtime residents of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, where they served in the community. They owned and operated the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home along with Lynn and Jo Hurtt for many years. Dave passed away on October 13, 2005. They were married for fifty-nine years.
Polly had made Nixa, Missouri her home for the past six years.
She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove, where she taught the Preschool Sunday School Class and Training Union Kindergarten Class for many years, which she enjoyed very much.
Polly was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star for fifty years. She served as Worthy Matron for two years.
Following her retirement, she spent many enjoyable hours playing golf with her many friends.
Polly was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She always put her family first and devoted her life to serving others.
She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Tom Hill and Roy Hill; three sisters: Alma Morrison, Lorene Huggins, and Linda Smith; and by a great-grandson: Destyn Yarger.
She is survived by her children: Retha Clark and her husband, Bill, of Nixa, Missouri, Nancy Prine and her husband, Michael, of Springfield, Missouri, and David Craig of Nixa, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Lisa Derrick, Tina Russell, Terry Wilson II, Kris Hayes, Erica Ballinger, Sarah Craig, and Sheena Craig; sixteen great-grandchildren; three brothers: Wilmer Hill of Licking, Missouri, Harold Hill of St. Louis, Missouri, and Carl Hill of Licking, Missouri; one sister: Allene Moncrief of Licking, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends.
