Paul Adam Ussery

July 29, 1931 — November 15, 2011

Paul A. Ussery, son of the late Reverend Clarence and Minnie (Adams) Ussery, was born on July 29, 1931 in Norwood, Missouri, and went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2011 at 12:15 AM in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was 80 years of age.
Paul grew up and attended school in Wright County, Missouri and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in 1949. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp and was honorably discharged on December 1, 1953.
Paul was united in marriage to Norma Millsap on September 15, 1951. Three children were born to this union.
Paul and Norma celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary this past September.
He retired as Vice President of Wilson Foods in the late 1980’s and went on to further his sales career at Buring Foods in Memphis, Tennessee and Valleydale Foods in Bristol, Virginia. He and Norma lived in many cities including; Kansas City, Kansas; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Fullerton, California; Memphis, Tennessee; Bristol and Salem, Virginia; Springdale, Arkansas; Nixa, Missouri; Republic, Missouri and finally in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Paul recently became a member of Bentonville Free Will Baptist Church in Bentonville, Arkansas. Prior to moving his membership, he was a dedicated member of the Ozark First Free Will Baptist Church in Ozark, Missouri for fifteen years. He loved his church, and taught Sunday School for almost fifty years. He loved southern gospel music, and enjoyed going to “singings” and even sang in a quartet or two over the years. He served as a Gideon for many years. He was a strong man of Faith and lived his life unashamed of his Christianity.
Paul loved his wife and family; he loved his church and friends, and enjoyed laughing and telling stories and watching children. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Lee, Don, Joe and Junior Ussery; one sister: Freeda Ussery-Butts; and his eldest son: Reverend Geary L. Ussery.
He is survived by his loving wife: Norma Ussery of their home in Bentonville, Arkansas; his son: Michael Ussery and his wife, Teresa, of Republic, Missouri; his daughter: Sherry McIntyre and her husband, Leroy, of Bentonville, Arkansas; a daughter-in-law: Gerry Ussery; eight grandchildren: Kristin Wilkins, Geary “Buddy” Ussery, Justin Ussery, Elizabeth Ann Ussery, Kari Wilkinson, Donavan Oquendo, Rachel McIntyre, and Lisa McIntyre; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service:
Services will be held on Friday, November 18th at 6:30 PM in the Ozark First Freewill Baptist Church in Ozark, Missouri.

Visitation:
Friday, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the church prior to the service.

Memorial Contributions:
Ozark First Freewill Church Building Fund c/o the funeral home.
