Pamela Smith

February 4, 1952 — February 14, 2025

Seymour

Pamela “Pam” Marie (Patterson) Smith, 73, of Seymour, Missouri, departed this life February 14th, 2025, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 4th, 1952, to Gordon “Pat” Patterson and Euna “Norine” (O’Byrne) Patterson.

Pam was united in marriage to her first husband, Randy Kirk, in 1969 and to this union four children were born: Alicia, Patty, David, and Amy. Her son, David, passed away in 1990 at the tender age of 14. Pam was united in marriage to her late husband, Clyde “Randy” Smith, in 1990 and to this union she had a son, Stephen.

The family affectionately, and jokingly, called her “Dr. Doolittle” because of her love of all animals. She had some exotic and unusual animals during her lifetime including miniature horses, wolves, iguanas, an owl, a zorse, pot-bellied pigs, parrots, finches, a spider monkey, and a squirrel, just to name a few. She leaves behind her beloved dog, Lola, who she adored.

Pam and her late husband, Randy Smith, owned and operated Greenbriar Construction and Remodeling for over 30 years until their retirement. They even received the Springfield Missouri Betterment Association Award for improving neighborhoods on the north side of Springfield. It was an award she was very proud of.

Pam enjoyed artwork and was quite a talented artist in her younger years. Pam also had a green thumb and as she got older, she became an avid gardener and loved all her plants and flowers. Pam was a born again Christian and loved studying her Bible. She was very knowledgeable and had a very close and personal relationship with the Lord.

Pam will be fondly remembered as one of the kindest people you could ever hope to meet. She had a heart of pure gold. Throughout all her life, she would always help someone in need if it was within her power and means to do so. She cared about people. No one ever had a negative word to say about her. She was loved by all who knew her.

Pam will be deeply missed but we rejoice in knowing that she is in Heaven with Jesus and with loved ones who have gone before her. She is no longer in any pain.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde “Randy” Smith, her son David Kirk, her brother Patrick Patterson, her half-sister Gwendolyn (Patterson) Carle, and her nephew Joseph Patterson.

She is survived by her devoted children, Alicia Hagen (and companion Dan Wehmer), Patricia (Rick) Earles, Amy (John) Bohlinger, and Stephen Smith (and companion Nicole Ruddick). She is also survived by Jayson (Rebecca) Milton, whom she loved like a son. Pam is survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank Good Shepherd Hospice and Elect Home Care for the excellent care they gave Pam during her time of illness.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Seymour's Historic Owen Theater.
