Orvil Lee Loge was born July 7, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, and departed this life June 10, 2024, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at the age of 80 years, 11 months, and 3 days.
On February 23, 1963, he was united in marriage to Donna Lee Hodges, and to this union four sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Dorothy Loge; granddaughter, Schellby Loge; great-granddaughter, Andi; brothers, Eugene, Larry, and Bill Loge; sisters, Debbie Loge and Wilma Loge.
Orvil is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna, of the home; sons, Gene Loge and wife, Tracy, of Mansfield, Missouri, Bill Loge and wife, Lee, of Osage Beach, Missouri, Ovie Loge and wife, Misti, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Jamie Loge and wife, Jana, of Ava, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was born in St. Louis and graduated from Herculaneum High School in the Class of 1961. He was an investigator for Equifax for several years, an agent for Shelter Insurance in Houston, Missouri, from 1976 until 1989, and an investigator for the State of Missouri in the Public Defender’s Office for 20 years, retiring in 2009.
Orvil was a 50-year member of the Ava Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite. He was Master of the Ava lodge for 4 years and District Deputy Grand Master for 4 years, and member of Abou Ben Adhem Shrine.
When Orvil was 12 years old, he went with his Sunday school class to a Billy Graham Crusade at Busch Memorial Stadium where he was saved and is a member of the Houston First Baptist Church.
Orvil and Donna lived in Mtn. View, Missouri for 10 years, where he served as mayor, Houston, Missouri, for 15 years, and the last 25 years in Ava, Missouri.
In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and attending the grandkids ballgames.
Orvil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will always cherish the many memories of times spent together.
