Oris Dewayne Weber, son of the late Fred and Myrtle (Dowden) Weber, was born on November 29, 1938 in Competition, Missouri, and went home to be with the Lord with his loved ones by his side on January 31, 2012 in the St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri, at 73 years of age.
Oris grew up and attended school in Lynchburg, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Shirley Fay Postlewait on August 15, 1959. Four children were born to this union.
Oris bought his first farm at the age of twenty-three and has continued to farm since that time. He and Shirley have owned many businesses and made a multitude of friends over the years.
He was a longtime member of the Plato School Board.
Oris accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of sixteen and he enjoyed the privilege of testifying and sharing his faith with others in the community. At the time of his passing, he was a member of the Hickory Ridge Baptist Church. He enjoyed attending services and visiting with his many friends.
Oris’ greatest joy in life was his family. He always made sure his family felt loved and that each one knew how proud he was of them. His generosity and love for his family and friends will always be a treasured memory. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Calvin Weber and Delvin Weber; and by one sister: Doris Pate.
Oris is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years: Shirley Weber of their home; his three sons: George Dewayne Weber of Success, Missouri, Steven Ray Weber and his wife, Tina, of Success, Missouri, and Albert Lee Weber and his wife, Stephanie, of Lynchburg, Missouri; his daughter: Sandra Fay Weber of Marshfield, Missouri; nine grandchildren: Amanda Jo (Weber) Anderson and her husband, Robert Elishus, Sarah Danielle (Weber) Kindred and her husband, Wesley Thomas, Austin Dewayne Weber, Michelle Renee (Weber) Bergonzoni and her husband, Donald, Markus Ray Weber and his wife, Chelsea Marie, Meagan Rose Weber, Daniel Lee Weber and his wife, Rachael Lynn, Brandi Lynn Weber, and Chelsea Renee Weber; four great-grandchildren: Robert Elishus Anderson Jr., Torrien Benjamin Anderson, Kyrese Dewayne Anderson and Emma Kate Kindred; two brothers: Dean Weber and his wife, Mary Jane, of Plato, Missouri, and Howard Weber and his wife, Hope, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters: Lola Thompson and her husband, Gary, of Memphis, Tennessee and Helen Barnes of Manes, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends.
