Oren Satterfield

May 22, 1943 — August 7, 2018

Oren Luther Satterfield, son of the late Virgil and Cledis (Hopper) Satterfield, was born May 22, 1943, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, and passed away August 7, 2018, at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 75 years, 2 months, and 16 days of age.

Oren grew up in Missouri and Nebraska. He graduated high school in Wahoo, Nebraska, in 1962. As a teenager he worked after school at various jobs including Timmermann Feedlot. On December 20, 1963, he married Betty Vosler. Three children were born to this union. Betty passed away March 5, 2004.

After Oren and Betty were married, he worked for a grocery store in Ralston, Nebraska. When his grandfather’s health began to fail, he asked Oren to come back to Cabool, Missouri, and take over his farm. So Oren packed up his family and moved to the farm where he raised Appaloosa horses. He also worked other various jobs, from grocery stores to tire shops and gas stations.

After Betty’s passing, Oren was reacquainted with high school friend, Alice (Snodgrass) Love, whom he had dated when they were in high school. They were married January 30, 2006, in Franklin, Nebraska.

Oren liked to fish, hunt, and spend time with his family. He loved sports, especially football and baseball. Almost every year he went to Nebraska to the college baseball world series. When August came around he would stay tuned to the TV and watched little league baseball world series.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Cledis Satterfield, his first wife, Betty Satterfield and an infant daughter.

Oren is survived by two sons, Dell Satterfield and his wife, Shanda, and Randy Satterfield and his wife, Debbie, all of Mountain Grove, Missouri, one daughter, Lydia Wilson and her husband, Dave, of Branson, Missouri, two step-sons, Gary Love and his wife, Beth, and Dale Love and his wife, Tammy, all of Ashland, Nebraska, two brothers, Jerry Satterfield and his wife, Judy, of Licking, Missouri, and Terry Satterfield and his wife, Treva, of Salem, Missouri, one sister, Crystal Ritz and her husband, Stanley, of Licking, Missouri, three sisters-in-law, Ellen McKinstry of Ashland, Nebraska, Pat Carlton and her husband, Gary, of Rickville, Indiana, and Leadel Todd and her husband, Calvin, of Ashland, Nebraska, nine grandchildren, Jonathan Edwards, Kayla Sanders and her husband, Jon, Brandon Satterfield, Latham Melton Farmer, Braden Melton, Justin Satterfield and his wife, Kathryn, Adam Satterfield, Stephen Wilson, and Faith Wilson, four step-grandchildren, Brittany Love, Bryan Love and his wife, Lisa, Vicky Love, and Cody Love, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and other family and friends who will miss him very much.
