Opal Lorene Hart

Opal Lorene Hart, daughter of the late John and Ida (Boyer) Kelley, was born on October 3, 1918 in Huggins, Missouri and departed this life on October 13, 2010 in the Autumns Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri following a short illness, at 92 years of age.
Opal grew up and attended school in the Huggins and Bendavis Communities. She graduated from Houston High School in 1937. She was united in marriage to Wilson Hart on December 18, 1937 in Houston, Missouri. Three children were born to this union. They raised their family on a farm for many years. They enjoyed traveling over the years. Mr. Hart passed away on July 1, 2001.
Opal was employed for the Brown Shoe Company in Mtn. Grove for over twenty-seven years. She enjoyed quilting and being outdoors, tending to her large garden each year. She also liked going to the Senior Center to play pool, cards and Bingo. She was a big music fan.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Leo Kelley and Russell Kelley; and by one sister: Edith Robertson.
She is survived by two sons: Robert L. Hart and his wife, Shirley, of Licking, Missouri and Hubert R. Hart and his wife, Betty, of Mtn. Grove; one daughter: Roberta Hodges of Buffalo, Missouri; three brothers: Norman Kelley of Golden Valley, Arizona, Hershel Kelley of Unionville, Iowa, and Dennis Kelley of Ottumwa, Iowa; three sisters: Ursie Moore of Houston, Missouri, Nadine Dommer and Fern Horn, both of Moravia, Iowa; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.

Saturday, October 16th, 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.

Friends may call at their convenience in the funeral home, Friday, 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
