Norma Louise Ussery

March 14, 1932 — March 20, 2017

Norma Louise Ussery, daughter of the late Elven and Amy (Allen) Millsap, was born March 14, 1932 in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and departed this life March 20, 2017 in Bentonville, Arkansas, at the age of 85.



Norma grew up and attended school in Kansas City, Kansas. This is where she met the love of her life, Paul Adam Ussery. The two were united in marriage September 15, 1951 in Kansas City. Three children were born to this union.



Norma was a very creative and artistic woman with many talents. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed riding in fast cars and roller coasters. She was an excellent painter who enjoyed working with oil and acrylics. Norma was also a very talented singer who used that God given talent for many years in church. Many times the altar would be full because of the power of the Holy Spirit moving through Normas singing.



For several years Norma worked as a real estate broker in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Fullerton, California. It was during this time that she became known for her great ability of interior decorating.

Norma and Paul lived in many different cities throughout the United States. She enjoyed traveling with her family.



Besides her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Paul Ussery, one son, Rev. Geary Ussery, one grandson, Geary Buddy Ussery, and one brother-in-law, Larry Maxwell.



Norma is survived by one son, Michael Ussery and wife, Teresa, of Bois DArc, Missouri, one daughter, Sherry McIntyre and husband, Leroy, of Centerton, Arkansas, one daughter-in-law, Rev. Gerry Ussery of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, two sisters, Phyllis Marxen and husband, Frank, of Boise, Idaho, and Janell Maxwell of Apopka, Florida, seven grandchildren, Kristin Wilkins, Justin Ussery, Elizabeth Ussery-Fleming, Kari Wilkinson, Donavan Oquendo, Rachel McIntyre, and Lisa Medbery, seventeen great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.


Visitation: Thursday, March 23, 2017, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.



Funeral Service: Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.



Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery.



Memorial Contributions: Ozark First Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
