Nassrollah "Nassi" Aliabadi

November 6, 1947 — March 6, 2025

Mountain Grove

Nassrollah Aliabadi or "Nassi" was born on November 6, 1947, in Tehran, Iran. He departed this life on March 6, 2025, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at the age of 77.

Nassi's journey began in the beautiful countryside of Northern Iran. He was strong-willed and determined even in his youth. He spent his teen years in Germany where he had many adventures and visited many beautiful places. He would talk about those adventures and his eyes would light up.

When he arrived in America, in 1967, he could speak Farsi, German and French but knew very little English. Within six months he had become fluent and was attending college with the hopes of becoming a paleontologist one day.

While working in a restaurant, he fell for a strawberry blonde with green eyes, Letha Rae Gilliam, they were married in 1976. Two daughters and a lot of life happened, as it sometimes does. Their marriage, along with dreams of becoming a paleontologist, did not make it. God eventually led him to his true calling as a real estate agent. He was known for his integrity, charming personality, and warm smile. This allowed Nassi to cultivate strong relationships with his clients and colleagues alike. Nassi was respected and genuinely loved at his job, with many considering him a friend rather than a business associate.

Nassi was most proud of his daughters and granddaughter. He considered them his greatest joy. His love for nature and the beautiful gifts of God's creation was obvious to all who knew him. He would spend hours watching documentaries about nature and the world around him. He also had a deep enjoyment of playing the lottery and dreaming of that big jackpot that was just within his reach. He played the same numbers every week. He would talk endlessly about all the ways he would bless his friends and family when he won it, not if he won it. He loved to make people smile and whenever someone asked him if he needed anything, he would ask for the winning lottery numbers. This always took people by surprise and made them laugh. He absolutely loved to make people laugh. All of this was topped by the deep love and patriotism he had for America. He truly loved this country.

Nassi is survived by his two daughters, Laleh Lee Thorn and her husband, Nick, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Taraneh Ray Aliabadi of Sherman Oaks, California; one granddaughter, Emma Lee Thorn of Mountain Grove, Missouri; as well as many other family and friends that will miss him very much.
