Nancy Orr

Nancy Lou (Bledsoe) Orr, daughter of the late Granville Rolland and Dorothy Catherine (Nichols) Bledsoe, was born August 5, 1935, in Okemah, Oklahoma, and passed away in Springfield, Missouri, January 7, 2023, at 87 years of age.

Nancy married Howard Dale Orr “Bud” in Memphis, Tennessee, on August 18, 1954.

Nancy worked several places throughout her life including being a switchboard operator and a secretary while living in both Oklahoma and Missouri. A saying that served her well while she was a secretary was, “A short pencil is better than a long memory. Jot it down”.

Nancy loved antiquing, working in her flower gardens, traveling back to Washington, Oklahoma, traveling to every western state, and visiting with family.

Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Orr, brother and sister-in-law, Billy R. Bledsoe and Betty “Barbara” Bledsoe, and a great nephew, Brandon Bledsoe.

She will be greatly missed by her niece, Debbie Sparks, nephews, Ricky Bledsoe, Terry Bledsoe all of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews who will also miss her greatly.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her special friends, Julie, Melissa, Jessica, Cameron, for their care of her and their visits and also to Debbie, Bobby, and Randy.

There will be no services at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
