Nancy Charmaine Young

Nancy Charmaine Young, daughter of the late Arthur and Bessie (Noel) Shannon, was born June 12, 1933 and departed this life Friday, September 14, 2007 in the St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri. She was 74 years, 3 months, and 2 days of age.
Charmaine grew up in Mountain Grove. She met Russell Young and they were married on November 14, 1953 in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Mountain Grove.
She worked at MFA for several years before she started her 20 year career with Barker-Phillips-Jackson Insurance Agency. Charmaine spent most of her life caring for others’ needs more than her own, always giving more than she took. Charmaine had a good memory for community history and kept busy with church or community activities as often as she could. She loved people and could often be heard saying “Love ya, love ya,” at the close of her visit. Charmaine also dearly loved playing the organ and was the church organist at Trinity United Methodist Church for about 50 years.
Besides her parents, Charmaine was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, on January 20, 2007.
She is survived by her cousins: Arthur Morris of Conway, Missouri, Charles Eckland of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Virginia McDaniel and Nettie Lou Artz, both of Battlefield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other church family and friends that will miss her very much.

Monday, September 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Trinity United Methodist Church, Mtn. Grove, MO.
Visitation:
Monday, September 17, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. also in the Trinity United Methodist Church, Mtn. Grove, MO.
Interment:
Hillcrest Cemetery, Mtn. Grove, MO
Contributions:
In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to be made to the Organ Fund at Trinity United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society, or charity of donor's choice.
