Nadine Hurley

July 9, 1932 — January 16, 2021

Nadine Lucille Hurley was born July 9, 1932, in Plato, Missouri, to John and Opal (Williams) Lee. She passed away on January 16, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was 88 years, 6 months, and 7 days of age.

Nadine married the love of her life, Johnnie James Hurley, on May 10, 1952. Two children were born to this union.

She loved to read, garden, and take care of cattle until they moved to town in 1987. When she wasn’t helping with farming, she and Johnnie owned and operated the DX station and Sinclair Station and Grocery in Manes, Missouri. She also worked at Brown Shoe Factory, Best Western, HD Lee, McDonalds, and Casey’s during her lifetime.

She often was a babysitter for several children while their parents worked. Her favorite past time was caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always welcomed them with open arms and snacks.

Nadine was saved when she was 16 in a revival with Rev. Everett Bryant at Manes Baptist Church during Christmas 1948. She was among 27 others that were saved that night. She attended Manes Baptist Church since that date. She was faithful to read her Bible every day.

Besides her parents, Nadine was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Hurley, brother, Darrell Lee and his wife, Betty, infant sister, Juanita Lee, and son-in-law, Richard Kildow.

She is survived by her son, Johnnie “Jimmie” Hurley Jr. and his wife, Anita of Manes, Missouri, daughter, Lindilee Kildow of Mountain Grove, Missouri, grandchildren, Julie Ladendorf and her husband, Kurt, Kimberley Crabtree and her husband, Mike, Sherrie Cooper and her husband, Brian, Jammie Hurley and his wife, Megan, great-grandchildren, Ivie Shelton, Matthew Hurley, Katie Crabtree, Emily Hurley, Sydnee Crabtree, Kensi Ladendorf, and many more family and friends who will miss her.
