Myrtle Louise (Kastner) Harris, daughter of the late John George and Sadie Alvina (Gillette) Kastner, was born April 19, 1929, in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She passed away May 21, 2019, at Springfield Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Springfield, Missouri, at 90 years, 1 month, and 2 days of age.
Myrtle was born and raised in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She married Leonard Denton Paulsen, Sr. in 1948. Three children were born to this union: Diane, Leonard Denton, Jr., and Louise. Leonard, Sr. passed away July 23, 1978. Myrtle married Donald Harris in 1981, and gained four children with this union: Ralph, Sherry, David, and Jimmie. Don passed away November 14, 2010.
Myrtle loved her flower gardens and everything had to be precise and in the right place. She called it her “healing garden”. Myrtle loved her Lord Jesus Christ and she ministered the gospel to everyone she met. She lived her life to serve her family, her neighbors, and all those around her, but mostly, her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
Besides her parents and her husbands, Myrtle was preceded in death by two sons, Leonard Denton Paulsen, Jr. and Ralph Harris, and one brother, John Kastner.
She is survived by her children, Diane Stockstill of Clinton, Missouri, Louise Olson and her husband, David, of Vanzant, Missouri, Sherry Harris of Springfield, Missouri, David Harris of Springfield, Missouri, and Jimmie Harris and his wife, Kairrie-Anne, of Calhoun, Missouri, one brother, Joe Kastner of Colorado, two sisters, Cathy Odneal of Drury, Missouri, and Alberta Pierce and her husband, Donald, of Colorado, seventeen grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
