Mike Calton

May 6, 1967 — January 21, 2025

Hartville

Michael Rodney Calton was born May 6, 1967, in Marshfield, Missouri, to Donald Ray and Beverly Jean (Moore) Calton, and departed this life January 21, 2025, at 57 years of age.

Mike grew up in the Hartville, Missouri, area until the age of 16, and then moved to Seattle, Washington, with his dad, Don. Before going to Seattle, he started learning the mechanics trade and worked with the Tooley family and Junior Pasley. After moving to Seattle, he worked with his uncle, Richard Calton, installing glass. He later worked for Jump’s Union where he met and fell in love with Jeannie Jump. They were united in marriage and their two children, Elizabeth Ann and Cameron Don, were born.

Throughout the years, Mike worked for GM Truck Center, Jet Chev, and Manheim Auto Auction. He was eventually able to start his first business, Calton Performance, and then Calton Transmission and Automotive. Mike eventually moved back to Hartville and continued his transmission business there. Being a mechanic was the only thing Mike knew, and he enjoyed anything on wheels. His favorite hobby was working on and racing his ’71 Camero at SIR Raceway. He also loved taking his kids to NHRA drag races, monster truck events, and Supercross races. Mike enjoyed hosting BBQ’s and cook-outs for his family and friends where he always made his homemade sedalin bombs.

Everyone could sit and listen for hours to Mike tell stories about his many life events. Everyone who met him absolutely loved him. He had a special bond with his family and hundreds of friends he made over the years. Mike was always there to help anyone in need and always went out of his way for others. His loving heart was felt by so many, and he will be missed by all that knew him.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Donald Calton, one uncle, Ike Moore, one aunt, Ruth Ann Gatlin, grandparents, Betty Jean Moore, Louie Gene Moore, Robert Calton, and Mamie Marie Calton, and one nephew, Taylor Don Calton.

He is survived by his mother, Beverly Calton, of Hartville, Missouri, one daughter, Elizabeth Calton and spouse, Patric Charles, of Spanaway, Washington, one son, Cameron Calton and spouse, Jordan Nesiba, of Oak Harbor, Washington, his first grandchild on the way, one brother, Tracy Calton of Hartville, Missouri, three sisters, Angie Patterson of Hartville, Missouri, Christi Calton-Smith and husband, Jeff, of McKenna, Washington, and Stephanie Walton of Orting, Washington, many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will miss him.

Father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew,

cousin, and special friend to all that knew you.

Such an inspiring guy and our hero too.

The love you showed has touched us all.

Truly a man with a personality and character that so many admired.

Never letting life’s struggles get you down.

Always a smile, never a frown.

You have touched us all in a special way.

Your spirit is with us always to stay.

Fly high sweet man and watch over us all.

We will miss you so much.

Our hearts will be forever touched.
