Mickey Floyd Dortch, son of Hershel Dortch and Janice Holbert Dortch was born June 29, 1962, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and departed this life from complications of Parkinson’s Disease on April 7, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 59 years, 9 months, and 8 days.
On March 23, 1985, he was united in marriage to Jerrilynn Osborne and to this union three children were born.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mickey is survived by his wife, Jerrilynn, of the home; two sons, Chris Dortch and wife, Ashley, of Richardson, Texas, Ryan Dortch and wife, Noelle, of Osceola, Missouri; daughter, Kassidy Cantrell and husband, Echo, of Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Nickolai Bonds, Roland Cantrell, and Anastasia Dortch; and a fourth grandchild, Penelope Dortch on the way; his mother, Janice Dortch of North Liberty, Iowa; sister, Teresa Maddock and husband, Ken, of North Liberty, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he graduated from Mills High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree at Henderson State University. Mickey served his country faithfully from 1985-1992 in the United States Air Force with the rank of Captain. He was a computer programmer and moved to Seymour in 2007.
In his spare time, he loved coaching his boys when they played Little League Baseball, fishing, and golfing.
