Michael Edward Pluth, Jr.

Michael Edward Pluth, Jr., son of the late Michael E. Pluth, Sr., and Mary (Zorman) Pluth, was born on July 24, 1936 in Oak Park, Illinois, and passed away on November 4, 2012 in the Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 76 years, 3 months and 10 days of age.
Michael grew up and attended school in the Downers Grove, Illinois area and graduated from Downers Grove High School in 1954. He served his country in the United States Army.
Michael was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Novotny on June 4, 1960 in Berwyn, Illinois. One daughter, Lynn, was born to this union. They made Missouri their home for almost twenty years.
Michael was employed as a Redi Mix truck driver for Material Services for over thirty years.
He enjoyed model railroading and was an avid NASCAR fan. He also liked Missouri’s weather, driving his truck, and visiting with his many friends.
Michael was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mtn. Grove where he was a greeter, which he truly enjoyed. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Ava, Missouri.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Ron Pluth.
He is survived by his loving wife: Gwen Pluth of their home; his daughter and son-in-law: Lynn and David Hall of Sheridan, Illinois; three grandchildren: Davey Hall, Dan Hall and his wife, Samantha, and Rebecca Haines and her husband, Isaiah; one brother: Joe Pluth and his wife, Charlene, of Tinley Park, Illinois; one sister: Rose Sadoski and her husband, Gene, of Mtn. Home, Arkansas; a sister-in-law: Jan Pluth, Mesa, Arizona; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.

November 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM
in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Mtn. Grove.


Visitation: Thursday,
November 8th from 6:00 PM

– 8:00 PM in the funeral home.


Burial: Lone Star Cemetery
