Michael “Mike” W. Burch, 70, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away the morning of Thursday, September 24, 2020, from surgical complications at Saint Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
Mike was born July 27, 1950, in Jackson County, Missouri. He started the most important path to him immediately following high school by marrying his lifelong sweetheart, Patricia Faye (Coday) Burch, and starting their family. They had two children, daughter, Treva Ann (Burch) Wittmeyer, and son, Travis Dale Burch. For Mike, family always came first and was the most important thing to him. Even when the family expanded he took in his son-in-law, Scott Wittmeyer, and daughter-in-law, Rebecca (Cosner) Burch, as if they were his own. When the grandkids came along you knew that on Friday nights they were always going to be with their Papa Mike and Mama Pat, sometimes extending through the weekend.
Mike was always a hard worker and you could always find him doing odd and end jobs, but his heart was with his 25 year career with Kingston Environmental as a Heavy Equipment Operator and then on to being their warehouse manager.
Mike was preceded in death by parents Bernard & Mary Ellen (West) Burch, brothers Bernard “Bud” Burch, Roger Burch, and Sister Ellen Juanita (Burch) Cochran.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Burch of the home, two children and their spouses, Treva and Scott Wittmeyer, and Travis and Rebecca Burch all of Greenwood, Missouri, grandkids, Tyler Wittmeyer (Sidney Sampel), Allison Paul (Bradley), Taylor Burch (Zachary Dillman), and Ryan Burch, three great-grandkids, Weston Davis, Dawson and Peyton Paul, brothers and sister, Shirley Gross-Russell, John Ronald Burch, Larry Burch, and Geneva Ann Millett, and a very large extended list of family and friends.
