Melissa Dawn Mabe

Melissa Dawn Mabe, daughter of Roy Don and Virginia Louise (Moore) Smith, was born July 18, 1974, in Houston, Missouri, and departed this life October 9, 2019, at her home, near Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 45 years, 2 months, and 23 days of age.

Melissa grew up and attended school in Mountain Grove and was a graduate with the Mountain Grove High School class of 1992. She married William Dixson in 1994. Three children were born to this union. Later she married Ray “Buddy” Mabe.

Melissa worked as an office administrator for American Home Patient for a few years. She also worked for several other businesses around the community. Melissa was an avid Chiefs fan and enjoyed doing arts and crafts. She greatly enjoyed watching her boys play sports throughout their school years. She also loved time spent with her children and grandson, Tucker.

Melissa was preceded in death by one sister, Christina Claxton.

Survivors include her parents, Roy Don and Virginia Louise Smith of Mountain Grove, two sons, Logan Dixson and wife, Emma, of Norwood, Missouri and Trey Dixson of Mountain Grove, one daughter, Jordyn Freeman and husband, Levi, of Cabool, Missouri, one brother, Keith Smith and wife, Christina, of Mountain Grove, one grandchild, Tucker Freeman of Cabool, fiancé, Jeff Kuster of Mountain Grove, nephews, Dylan Claxton, Jaxson Smith, and Layne Smith, and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
