May Luceal Monson

May Luceal Monson, daughter of the late Morgan C. and Izora (Cleaver) French, was born on March 27, 1925 in Texas County, Missouri and departed this life on January 26, 2013 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a short illness. She was 87 years, 9 months, and 27 days of age.

May grew up and attended school north of Mtn. Grove in the Graff Community. She was united in marriage to William Harold Keaster on June 10, 1953. One son was born to this union. Mr. Keaster passed away on April 25, 1982. May had made Mtn. Grove her home for many years.

May later married Garner John Monson on October 14, 2001. Mr. Monson passed away on January 2, 2007.

May was a kind, caring and compassionate person. She loved children and all kinds of animals. She was very talented. She loved to sew, make dolls and do all kinds of crafts. She also loved music and wrote many songs and she could play many different instruments.

May enjoyed taking walks around Mtn. Grove, visiting with those she knew. She loved her family very much and enjoyed telling stories about them.

She was saved at a young age.

Besides her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by her infant son: William Harold Keaster, Jr.; two brothers: Lewis French and John R. French; and by four sisters: Edith J. Shannon, Jessie Shewbert, Carol Martin Daniel French, and Sarah Nola French.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives, neighbors and friends who will sadly miss her.
