Mary Ruth Gray, daughter of the late Raymond Chester and Lala Grace (Sweeton) Gray, was born September 2, 1958, at Burge Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, and departed this life September 29, 2019, at Springfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Springfield, Missouri. She was 61 years and 27 days of age.
Mary was raised and spent the majority of her life in the Norwood, Missouri area. She was saved and baptized as a teenager and was a member of Cold Springs Free Will Baptist Church. She attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri the last eight years of her life. Also, for the past eight years, Mary has lived at an Individualized Supported Living facility supported by Easy Living.
Mary loved to shop, and especially enjoyed making trips to Wal-Mart. She really enjoyed going to the Wonders of Wildlife Museum and Aquarium in Springfield, as well as Silver Dollar City in Branson. One of the bright spots of her life was when she able to take a trip to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Mary was a very big Elvis Presley fan. She loved to attend all of the Elvis impersonator concerts that she could find in Branson.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lala Gray, and by two brothers, Harley Gray and Stephen Gray.
She is survived by two brothers, Bill Gray and his wife, Pat, of Kirbyville, Missouri, and Doyle Gray of Springfield, Missouri, many uncles and aunts, a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins, and many friends from her home who will miss her very much.
