Mary Mae (Burney) Jennings

May 12, 1926 — April 16, 2011

Mary Mae Jennings, daughter of the late William Albert and Dulcie Elizabeth (Austin) Burney, was born on May 12, 1926 in Manes, Missouri and departed this life on April 16, 2011 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri, at 84 years of age.
Mary grew up in the Manes area and later attended Mtn. Grove High School. She was united in marriage to Paris Crisp in 1942. Five children were born to this union, Beverly, Betty, Ronnie, Lonnie, and Larry. Mr. Crisp passed away in 1963.
She later married Ray Jennings on February 4, 1965. Two children were born to this union, Michael and Tabatha.
Mary was employed for several years with Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Company in Mansfield, Missouri prior to moving her family to Bolingbrook, Illinois. She spent the remainder of her working years employed with AT&T as a model shop supervisor.
In 1988, following their retirement, Mary and Ray moved to Houston, Missouri where they made their home for the past twenty-two years. Mary spent an extended amount of time caring for her sister, Faye and her brother-in-law, Randall.
Mary was a very loving and caring wife and mother. She was very sacrificial and went out of her way to give to others. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Mary had a passion of quilting and sewing and had made many beautiful quilts over the years.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers: Albert Burney, Claude Burney, and Nolan Burney; an infant brother: Ray Burney; one sister: Faye Moore; and by her step-mother: Walcie Swearengen.
She is survived by her husband: Ray Jennings of Houston, Missouri; four sons: Ronald Crisp of Rolla, Missouri, Lonnie and his wife, Kay, of Bendavis, Missouri, Larry Crisp and his wife, Jennifer, of Independence, Missouri and Michael Jennings of St. Charles, Missouri; three daughters: Beverly Friend and her husband, Estel, of Manes, Missouri, Betty Kinserlow and her husband, Don, of Independence, Missouri and Tabatha Jolly and her husband, Patrick, of Kansas City, Missouri; two brothers: Glenn Burney of Walla Walla, Washington and Troy Burney of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren: seventeen great-grandchildren; she was also blessed with three step-sons; three step-daughters; thirteen step-grandchildren; and seventeen step-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Her relationship with Christ and her devotion to the Bible demonstrated her inquisitive drive to learn more daily. She also had a passion of talking to others about their need to have a personal relationship with Christ as their Lord and Savior.
