Mary Glennis (Mccoy) Lynn

March 14, 1946 — September 24, 2017

Mary Glennis Lynn, daughter of the late Farrell and Verlee (Key) McCoy, was born March 14, 1946, at home in the Embree community, near Manes, Missouri, and departed this life September 24, 2017, at her home in Springfield, Missouri, following a short illness.

Glennis attended the Rose and Manes elementary schools and graduated from Plato High School in 1963. Following high school, she worked with her father at Fort Leonard Wood. Later, she worked for the Brown Shoe Company for several years before deciding to become a beautician. She attended cosmetology school in Springfield and then worked in the Glen Aisle Beauty Salon for several years. Glennis later became a licensed real estate appraiser and had her own business, Lynn Appraisal Company, and also worked with a close friend, Patty Nitzchki, for several years until Glennis became ill.

Glennis was united in marriage to Al Lynn on February 12, 1969, in the home of the bride, near Manes. She became the mother of two wonderful little boys, Jerry and Mike. She loved them dearly and felt so proud to be called their mom.

Glennis became a Christian and attended the Church of Christ for many years.

Glennis enjoyed many things in life. She loved travelling with her son, Mike and his family, on vacations. They enjoyed going to Disney World and seeing Mickey and Minnie. They had also gone to Mexico several times. Glennis and her sister, Glenda, loved taking their parents on vacations to the different states. They always came back with some great stories to tell. Glennis enjoyed watching “FACE OFF” on television and she would talk with her best friend, Margie, every Tuesday night to discuss who they thought would win. She would take a break from working on the computer and play online computer games where she would meet lots of friends. More than anything, Glennis loved spending time with her sons, her grandchildren, family, and friends. She was always happiest when she was around the ones she loved.

Glennis was an extra special, loving, and caring lady. She always thought it was better to give than receive and believed in treating others the way she wanted to be treated. She made sure other needs were met before her own. Glennis also had a quick wit and great sense of humor. She was known to be a “photo bomber.”

Glennis is survived by two sons, Mike Lynn and wife, Christina, of Brumley, Missouri, and Jerry Lynn and wife, Diana, of Trenton, Florida, seven grandchildren, Megan, Annika, and Simon Lynn, all of Brumley, Missouri, Stephanie Edwards of Springfield, Missouri, Nathan Wehrli of Ocala, Florida, Daniel Wehrli of Nevada, Missouri, and Joe Wehrli of Olatha, Kansas, one great-grandson, Gabrial Wehrli of Indianapolis, Indiana, one brother, Bill McCoy and wife, Leyetta, of Springfield, Missouri, one sister, Glenda McCarty and husband, Ken, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and an abundance of friends.

Glennis will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Our loss is GOD’S treasure.
