Martyn M. Deadmond

Martyn Myrle Deadmond, son of the late John Jefferson and Bonnie Bale (Peachee) Deadmond, was born April 14, 1925 in Jacksonville, Oregon, and departed this life on December 1, 2016 in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 91 years, 7 months, and 17 days of age.

Martyn was raised in Jacksonville and later moved to Oklahoma. He married Marie Morrell on August 6, 1949 in Sentinel, Oklahoma. Eight children were born to this union.

Martyn worked in sawmills and farmed while living in Oklahoma. He and Marie later moved to Missouri. He worked for Hutchens Industries in Mansfield, Missouri, in the foundry for 22 years until he retired.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching westerns on television. When he was younger, Martyn had earned his pilots license.

Martyn was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, one daughter, Lisa Deadmond, one brother, Everett Deadmond, and by one granddaughter, Natasha Deadmond.

He is survived by two sons, Kelly Deadmond of Pomona, Missouri, and John Deadmond of Mountain Grove, Missouri, five daughters, Ann Esquvel of Chicago, Illinois, Nina Burk of Bolivar, Missouri, Ida Deadmond of Chicago, Illinois, Gwen Deadmond of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Joyce Deadmond of Springfield, Missouri, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.


Visitation: Monday, December 5, 2016 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt funeral home.

Funeral Service: Monday, December 5, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral home.
