Marjorie Ellen Hickey

February 8, 1931 — December 16, 2007

Marjorie Ellen Hickey, daughter of the late Vernon and Linna (Wade) Graven, was born on February 8, 1931 in Wright County, Missouri, and departed this life on December 16, 2007 in the Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 76 years, 10 months and 8 days of age.
Marjorie grew up and attended school in Wright County and was united in marriage to Wallace Hickey on October 21, 1947 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. Together they raised three sons. They moved to the Kansas City area where Wallace worked for over twenty years. They later moved back to the Mtn. Grove area in 1992. They enjoyed playing music, traveling and visiting with their friends. Mr. Hickey passed away on October 15, 2005.
Marjorie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them.
She was a long time member of the Pleasant Hill Church near Mtn. Grove.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her three sons: Wally Hickey, Eddie Hickey, and Arthur Hickey Sr.; three brothers: Victor Graven, Joe Graven, and Gene Graven; and by one sister: Betty McLean.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law: Nina Hickey of Grandview, Missouri; two sisters: Katie Fletcher of Clovis, California, and Pat Largent of Grandview, Missouri; two grandsons: Arthur Hickey Jr., and Austin Hickey; and other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
Funeral services for Marjorie Hickey were held on Friday, December 21, 2007, 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Wayne Cannon and Rev. Edwin Cline officiating. Bill Evans, Jackie Evans, and Gene DeWitt sang “God Of The Mountain,” “When We All Get To Heaven,” “Amazing Grace,” and “If I Could Hear My Mother Pray Again.” Pallbearers were Phillip Drees, Wale Akinmoladun, Howard Brown, Verl Brown, Bruce Long, and David Dorrell. Burial was in the evening Shade Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
