Marian Marie Rust, daughter of the late Walter Jay and Annetta (West) Chaney, was born on March 22, 1925 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri and departed this life on July 25, 2008 in the Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri. She was 83 years, 4 months, and 3 days of age.
Marian grew up and attended school in Mtn. Grove and was united in marriage to Clyde Rust on February 18, 1944 in Mtn. Home, Arkansas. Five children were born to this union.
Marian was employed by Boeing Aircraft and later for the Brown Shoe Company in Mtn. Grove where she worked for many years.
Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, making pillows, doing crossword puzzles and working on family genealogy. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center in Mtn. Grove to visit with her friends. She and Clyde enjoyed visiting with friends in area nursing homes and hospitals.
Marian attended the Greenwood Church of the Brethren in Mtn. Grove as long as her health permitted.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She always had a smile on her face and will be missed by her loving family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Valerie Jean Rust; and by one sister: Doreen Benton.
She is survived by her husband: Clyde Rust of their home; two sons: Frank L. Rust of Fordland, Missouri and Clyde Rust Jr. and his wife, Peggy, of Columbia, Tennessee; two daughters: Sharon Freeman and her husband, Tom, of Mtn. Grove, and Pamela June Hensley and her husband, Bob, of Fordland, Missouri; one brother: Jack Chaney of Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters: Clara Berkley of Brea, California, Eula May Spence of San Antonio, Texas, and Marie Rebmann of Mtn. Grove; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Marian Rust were held Thursday, July 31, 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Richard Wells officiating. Erica Rust served as musician. Song selections were “Missing You,” “One Day At A Time,” “Amazing Grace,” and “When The Roll IS Called Up Yonder.” Serving as pallbearers were Adam Rust, Jason Rust, David Rust, Clyde Hensley, Michael Parsons, Rob Kayser and Dean Gress. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Freeman, Marcus Stucker, and Willie Rickerson. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
