Margaret Arlene Mckinney

Margaret Arlene McKinney, daughter of the late Forrest and Dorothy (Bard) Sellers, was born on March 11, 1931 in Corona, Indiana, and departed this life on January 27, 2017 at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri. She was 85 years, 10 months, and 16 days of age.

Margaret was raised in Auburn, Indiana. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1949. Margaret married John McKinney on September 30, 1951. Two children were born to this union: John Jr. and Janice.


Margaret worked at a boat factory making boat seats and covers for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, spending time with her cat, and playing bingo at the senior center. She loved visiting with her friends and being with her family.


Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, John, on April 3, 2012, and by her daughter, Janice Ogg.


She is survived by her son, John McKinney, Jr. and his wife, Lois, of Norwood, Missouri, one brother, James Sellars and his wife, Louise, of Waterloo, Indiana, one sister, Beverly Laier of Sarasota, Florida, three grandchildren, John McKinney III, David McKinney and his wife, Kimberly, Vern McKinney and his wife, Ashley, six great-grandchildren, Elyanna, Arden, Nava, Sophia, Kylee, and Rendee McKinney, and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.


Memorial Service: The family will be conducting a memorial service on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 6:30 PM in the Norwood Assembly of God Church, Norwood, Missouri
