Marceil (Smith) Keeler, passed away on October 2, 2012 at the age of 79 years, in Stockton, California, where she had lived since 1958. She was born on February 8, 1933, to James Sanford and Lana (Thompson) Smith in Wright County, Missouri.
Marceil attended rural schools in Wright County through her eighth grade and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in 1950. Shortly after her graduation, she moved to Oregon to be near her mother. In 1958 she decided to make Stockton, California her home.
In 1955, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Keeler, in Coos Bay, Oregon. One son was born to this union. In 1989, she married Castle Goldman.
Marceil was employed as a secretary, bookkeeper, and office manager in several offices at different times during her career. Her last job was for the Boilermaker's Union, where she worked for seventeen years and retired in 1991.
Besides her parents, and her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Velda Johnson and Hattie Woolard; one brother: Verlon Smith; and by a beloved niece: Darla (Woolard) Smith of Cabool, Missouri.
She is survived by her son: Forrest Keeler and his wife, Carol, of Coos Bay, Oregon; one grandson: Justin Keeler of Wichita, Kansas; one niece: Trisha Timosh and her husband, Bill, of Stockton, California; six nephews: Lonnie Johnson and his wife, Lynn, of Lockeford, California, Ronnie Woolard and his wife, Lisa, of Cabool, Missouri, Douglas Woolard and his wife, Glenna, of Santa Cruz, California, Terry Smith, Randy Smith and his wife, Linda, and Scott Smith, all of California; a beloved friend, whom she considered a daughter: Kathy Brock and her family of Stockton, California; her many friends at the Lighthouse Community Church where she attended for many years; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
