Maney Gorman Bennett

Maney Gorman Bennett, son of the late Marv and Francis (Ford) Bennett, was born on March 28, 1924 in Macomb, Missouri and departed this life on May 19, 2009 at his residence in Macomb. He was 85 years, 1 month and 21 days of age.
Maney grew up and attended school in the Macomb area and lived there all his life. He was united in marriage to Irene Florence Franklin on March 8, 1942 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. Six children were born to this union.
He was employed for Kraft Foods for thirty-eight years in Mansfield and Springfield. Maney loved being outdoors fishing, hunting, cutting wood and gardening each year. He especially enjoyed growing and sharing tomatoes.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Norwood for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Irene Bennett on June 14, 2005; two sons: Bobby Bennett and Donnie Bennett; and by two grandchildren: Tammy Gray and James Gray.
He is survived by two sons: Ronnie Bennett of Macomb, Missouri and Randy Bennett and his wife, Tammy, of Mansfield, Missouri; two daughters; Wilma Gray and her husband, Lloyd, of Fulton, Missouri, and Pat Blackwell of Mansfield, Missouri; two daughters-in-law: Donna Bennett of Norwood, Missouri and Margie Bennett of Joplin, Missouri; one brother: Charley Bennett and his wife, Bessie, of Mansfield, Missouri; one sister: Ruth Raney of Mansfield, Missouri; twenty grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.

Friday, May 22, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.

Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 7:00 -8:00 PM in the Chapel.
