Malvin Nezat

Malvin Arcine Nezat, Sr., was born November 21, 1939, in Port Barre, Louisiana, and departed this life on December 29, 2023, at his home in Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 8 days.

On May 4, 1990, he was united in marriage to Gladys Gellenbeck Averett.

Malvin was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Arcine Nezat and Margaret (Dawsey) Nezat.

Malvin is survived by his wife, Gladys, of the home; 3 sons, Malvin Arcine (Rusty) Nezat and wife, Kim, of Splendora, Texas, Otis Dean Nezat of Mt. Bellview, Texas, and David Allen Nezat and wife, Gaelea, of Dayton, Texas; 2 step sons, Paul Edward Averett and wife, Phyllis, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Charles Darell Averett and wife, Linda, of Mansfield, Missouri; step daughter, Wanda Marie Brazeal, and husband, Bob, of LaPorte, Texas; 13 grandchildren and step grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; many relatives and friends.

Most of Malvin’s working career was spent as a self-employed municipal utility maintenance contractor.

Malvin was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Baytown, Texas, before moving to Mansfield, Missouri, in June of 2022, when his health was declining, and he had a stroke.

Malvin loved to hunt and kept his Texas yard in immaculate condition.

The family would like to give a special recognition to Donna and Lindsey, and the whole Hospice Compassus team for the care, compassion, and love they have given to Malvin and his family.
