Mae Coffman-Hays

August 22, 1910 — June 2, 2009

Mae Coffman-Hays, daughter of the late John W. and Mary (Carder) Ellis, was born on August 22, 1910 in Rayborn, Missouri and passed away on June 2, 2009 in the Christian Health Care of Nixa, Missouri at 98 years of age.
Mae grew up and attended school in the Rayborn Community. She was united in marriage to John William Coffman on June 17, 1928. Eight Children were born to this union. Mr. Coffman passed away in 1977.
She was married to Charles Hays on January 10, 1987 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri where they made their home until his passing on March 16, 1994.
Mae enjoyed being outdoors tending to her garden each year. She was a very thoughtful person who was always willing to help those around her.
She was saved at the age of twelve and attended area Pentecostal churches over the years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother sister and friend. She loved spending time with her family and visiting with her many friends. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three sons: John William Coffman Jr., Quincy Leroy Coffman and Harvey Coffman; three daughters: Estelene Coffman, Shirley Jean Coffman and Sharon K. McKnight; three sons-in-law: Gearl McIntosh, Junior McKnight and Marion Hull; a daughter-in-law: Sandy Coffman; six brothers: Archie Ellis, Bert Ellis, Johnny Ellis, Bill Ellis, Arno Ellis and Paul Ellis; one sister: Ava Lathrom; and by a sister-in-law: Wilma Coffman. .
She is survived by two daughters: Norma “Judy” McIntosh of Nixa, Missouri, and Florence “Lorene” Hull of Gillett, Wyoming; one brother: Arley Ellis and his wife, Geneva, of Mtn. Grove; a brother-in-law: Almos Coffman of Manes, Missouri; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; twenty-five great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Graveside Services:
Friday, June 5, 12:30 PM in the Green Mountain Cemetery.
Visitation:
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel before the service.

Green Mountain Cemetery
