Mae Adamson

May 22, 1934 — October 1, 2008

Mae Adamson, daughter of the late Asa and Etta (Braden) Davis was born May 22, 1934 in Bruner, Missouri and passed away October 1, 2008 in St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 74 years, 4 months, and 9 days of age.
Mae was born in Bruner, Missouri and went to elementary school there. She continued her schooling in Fordland, Missouri until she married Murl Adamson on November 21, 1950. They were married in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Five children were born to this union.
In 1952, Mae and Murl moved to Davenport, Iowa and then returned to Mountain Grove in the early 1970’s. Mae was always a happy person and a great deal of her happiness came from the love she had for her family. They were her whole life. She loved cooking for them, especially baking pies, and she enjoyed the farm they lived on. In her spare time, Mae loved to go bowling and quilt. She gave her quilts to her children and grandchildren for special occasions like Christmas and graduations. For a short time, she and Murl ran the Country Kitchen restaurant in Mountain Grove, where she enjoyed visiting with their customers. Mae’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Bill, Doyle, and Norman Davis.
Mae is survived by her loving husband of their home, Murl; three sons: Ron Adamson and his wife, Sheryl, of Camdenton, Missouri; Kirby Adamson and his wife, Paula, of Reynolds, Illinois; and Mark Adamson of Osage Beach, Missouri; two daughters: Gwen Halsey and her husband, Monty, of Riverdale, Iowa; and Joyce Cole and her husband, David, of Seymour, Missouri; three brothers: John Davis of Davenport, Iowa; Nolan Davis and Donald Davis, both of Fordland, Missouri; one sister: Marie Burks of Fordland, Missouri; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends that will sadly miss her.
