Mack Richards, son of the late Offie W. and Rosa (Gemerson) Richards, was born on October 2, 1921, in Turley, Missouri, and departed this life on April 24, 2016, at his home in Mansfield, Missouri. He was 94 years, 6 months, and 22 days of age.
Mack was raised in Texas County, Missouri. At the age of 18, he began working for the Civilian Conservation Corps Camps. He worked there from 1939-1942, during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
On October 22, 1951, Mack was united in marriage with Irene Keller in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Seven children were born to this union: Don, Raymond Lee, Roberta, Sharon, Linda, Betty, and Mack Jr. Mack and Irene made their home in the Mountain Grove area where they raised their family.
Mack enjoyed gardening, watching wrestling, and picking up aluminum cans while he was walking. He loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Mack was preceded in death by his wife: Irene (Keller) Richards in 2008; two sons: Raymond Lee Richards and Mack Richards, Jr.; two daughters: Sharon Christeson and Linda Selleck; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by one son: Don Richards of Bucyrus, Missouri; two daughters: Betty Butcher and her husband, Willis, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Roberta Nevills of Kansas City, Kansas; one sister: Leona Hilgret of Beulah, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends.
