Lynn 'Joe' Chandler

Lynn Joe Chandler, son of the late Barney and Dorothy Alice (Cole) Chandler, was born on June 17, 1931 in Mtn. View, Missouri and departed this life on November 17, 2011 at his residence in Ashland, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 80 years and 5 months of age.
Joe grew up and attended school in Mtn. Grove and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty years and retired on October 31, 1970.
He was united in marriage to Paula Carol Estes on January 1, 1954 in Mesa, Arizona. Four children were born to this union. They made their home around Mtn. Grove for several years and moved to Ashland in May of this year.

Joe enjoyed doing woodworking projects, building projects, listening to Bluegrass music, flying and telling stories. He loved to make others around him laugh and enjoyed telling jokes. He was known to others as a happy person with a great personality and a man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Joe was a kind and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He loved spending time with his family and visiting with his many friends.
He was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Gene Chandler; and by one sister: Ruth Chandler.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of almost fifty-eight years: Paula Chandler of Ashland, Missouri; three sons: Mike Chandler of Mtn. Grove, Steve Chandler of Mansfield, Missouri and Jeff Chandler of the Republic of Cyprus; one daughter: Deena Holee and her husband, Doug, of Ashland, Missouri; one brother: Dow Chandler of the State of Arkansas; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
