Lyle "Dennis" Woods

Lyle “Dennis” Woods, son of the late Orpha Otis and Mary Magdaline (Frisbee) Woods, was born July 1, 1939, in Douglas County, Missouri, and departed this life December 26, 2023, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 84.

Dennis grew up in Douglas County. He served his country in the United States Army in 1957. He was united in marriage to Mary Ruth Bradshaw on April 16, 1958, in Norwood, Missouri. Two children were born to this union. Dennis spent many years working for Associated Grocers in Springfield. He was a proud member of the local Teamster Union.

Dennis enjoyed being outdoors, especially when hunting and fishing. He also liked raising cattle, deer, and llamas. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and he especially looked forward to time spent with his great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Woods; one brother, Lee Woods; and two sisters, Dorothy Proctor and Betty Miller.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Woods; one daughter, Belinda Rinck and husband, Danny; one sister, Virginia Jennings; three grandchildren, Shannon Woods and wife, Kristen, Shane Rinck, and Tasha Holder and husband, Jasen; ten great-grandchildren, Isabella, Cameron, Zoe, Sophia, Lyric, Olivia, Willow, Madison, Allisyn, and Nataleigh; nephew, Frankie Woods; and niece, Sandra White; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly.
