Lucy T. (Whited) Harms, daughter of the late Luther Whited and Julia (Carder) Longwell Whited, was born April 10, 1939, at Rayborn, Missouri. She went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2022, at 82 years and 10 months of age.
Lucy married Richard Harms on February 28, 1958, and gained a son, Danny Harms.
Lucy worked as a waitress for several years and later worked at the Brown Shoe Company until it closed. She then worked at Wal-Mart for 15 years until her retirement. She made many friends in her lifetime. She had special friends that enjoyed shopping and going to McDonald’s.
Lucy was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church in Mountain Grove. She and Richard were led to Christ by their son, Danny.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Harms; a son, Danny Harms; two infant babies; eight brothers, Harold Whited, John Whited, Tommy Whited, Raymond Longwell, Elvis Longwell, Thomas Longwell, Robert Longwell, and Richard Longwell; four sisters, Martha Longwell Splechter, Rhoda Longwell Biggers, Emajean Longwell Raney, and Celia Whited Volner.
She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa Zieber and husband, David, and Rhonda Horton; four grandchildren, Trista Tudor, Missy Crites and husband, D.J., Zach Horton and wife, Hannah, and Kaylee Horton; seven great-grandchildren, Kaytrianna, Remi, Weston, Shaydin, Emma, Seraphina, and Kodi; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Longwell and Burnus Longwell Groves; a very dear friend, Joe Austin and his two sons, Bruce Austin and Jeff Austin; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
The family extends great appreciation to Dr. David Barbe and Hospice Compassus for the wonderful attention and care extended to Lucy during her extended illness.
