Lowell Dean Allen

Lowell Dean Allen, son of the late Lawrence and Delma (Slate) Allen, was born December 31, 1943 in Pratt, Kansas, and departed this life on February 17, 2017 in Jefferson City, Missouri at 73 years of age.

Lowell was raised in Ulysses, Kansas and graduated high school there. He married Nancy McManaman. Two sons were born to this union.

Lowell drove a truck most of his life. He also worked as a mechanic and a welder. He and his brother enjoyed building race cars and racing on dirt tracks. He also enjoyed going to rodeos and watching them on tv. He especially loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Besides his parents, Lowell was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Allen, an infant sister, and by a great-grandchild, Dusty Guenther.

He is survived by two sons, Lonnie Allen and his wife, Deborah, of Norwood, Missouri, and Lennie Allen and his wife, Nita, of Augusta, Kansas, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
