Lowell Dale Hicks, son of the late Delmer Joel and Mary Ann (Reser) Hicks, was born October 10, 1948, in Norwood, Missouri, and passed away July 1, 2021, at his residence in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 72 years, 8 months, and 21 days of age.
At the age of 16, Lowell dropped out of school to help support his family. Later on in life he got his GED and pursued getting an Associates of Arts in Criminology degree. Lowell married Karen Elaine Robinson on July 7, 1967, in Exeter, California. From 1968 – 1970, he served his country in the United States Army.
Lowell worked for the city of Exeter, California, and the Exeter School district as a professional mechanic for over 30 years. Anyone who knew Lowell, knew about his passion for fixing and restoring old cars. A classic Chevrolet El Camino and a Plymouth Road Runner are just a couple examples of the many cars he tinkered with.
Lowell had a tremendous heart and love for his family and friends. He would give you the shirt off his back.
Besides his parents, Lowell was preceded in death by his wife, Karen, his son, T.J., two brothers, Lonnie Hicks and Leroy Hicks, and one sister, Lela Ellis.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Reimer of Mountain Grove, two adopted daughters, Sheila Dennard of Mountain Grove and Amanda Watson of Exeter, California, three brothers, Loren Hicks and his wife, Nancy, of Bucyrus, Missouri, Lyle Hicks and his wife, Teresa, of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Les Hicks and his wife, Ivy, of Lebanon, Missouri, one sister, Lena Rogers and her husband, James, of Mountain Grove, fourteen grandchildren, Keenan, David, Kyle, Chase, McKenzie, Macy, Jameson, Austin, John, Michael, Nicole, Zachary, David, and Ryan, two great-grandchildren, Emmy and Olivia, and many other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
