Lorraine Carolin Schott

August 11, 1921 — November 13, 2011

Lorraine Carolin (Carlson) Schott, was born on August 11, 1921 to John and Anna (Neilson) Carlson in Los Angeles, California. She died on November 13,m 2011 in Cabool, Missouri at the age of 90 years.
Carolin was raised in Los Angeles in a Swedish home with traditional language and customs. As a child, she was in several “Our Gang Comedy” and “Little Rascals” movies. In 1939, she was president of the Masonic Order of Jobs Daughters. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1939 and then attended Pepperdine College for two years.
She was united in marriage to Nyal Schott in May of 1942. Mr. Schott served in the Navy during World War II for the first four years of their marriage. Carolin attended the Bank of America banking school in 1946. Their daughter, Nyalin, was born in 1953. In 1956, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona and in 1968 they moved to Mtn. grove, Missouri. Carolin worked at First National Bank in Mtn. Grove and spent a total of thirty-four years in the banking industry.
She was an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Mtn. Grove for forty-four years. She loved helping at the Tri-County Fair each year. She helped with the food service to the fair goers for over thirty years.
Carolin enjoyed being with her three granddaughters and spending time with her family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years: Nyal Schott; one sister: Mildred Norman; and by one niece: Toddy Brown.
Carolin is survived by her daughter: Nyalin Barnes and her husband, Gary, of Mtn. Grove; three granddaughters: Jennifer Schutter and her husband, David, of Kirksville, Missouri, Jodi Klingensmith and her husband, Rick, of Springfield, Missouri, and Jana Brixey and her husband, James, of Mtn. Grove; six great-grandchildren: Maddax, Justin, Jenna, Tyler, Jacob and Jason; and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
