Lonnie Duane McCallister, son of the late William Earl and Lois Loraine (Woods) McCallister, was born March 28, 1948, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and passed away February 23, 2021, at his home in Mountain Grove. He was 72 years, 10 months, and 26 days of age.
Lonnie lived his entire life in Mountain Grove. He graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1966, where he enjoyed and excelled in football, basketball, and track. He set many records that still have not been broken and received a football scholarship where he attended college for a short time.
Lonnie worked road construction for over twenty years and was a member of the Construction Laborers Union. In his spare time, he enjoyed turkey and deer hunting, fishing, gigging, coon hunting, and hunting for arrowheads and mushrooms.
Besides his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by one brother, Harold McCallister, and one sister, Neva Jean Kelly.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Wallace and his wife, Karen, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Ival Heith Crisp and his wife, Shelly, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, one brother, Wilbert “Mac” McCallister of Schell City, Missouri, two sisters, Arlene Symon of Memphis, Tennesse, and Leta Mae Graham of Idaho, four grandchildren, Zachary, Cameron, Ty, and Savannah, and other relatives and friends who will miss him.
