In 1941, he proudly served his country in the army during World War 2. After returning home, he married the love of his life, Ruth Melton, on August 15, 1947. Lloyd loved the outdoors. He and Ruth loved to play golf together and they played in several tournaments on various golf courses. They also loved to fish and they spent many hours on the lakes and always had fresh fish in the freezer. Later in life, he enjoyed being at the Senior Center where he played pool with his friends.
