Linda (Sutherland) Brown

Linda Diane Brown, passed away August 28, 2021, surrounded by her loving family at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Lois (Swan) Sutherland and was born in Springfield, Missouri. She was 74 years old.

Over the years, Linda worked as an office manager for several companies. In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing, sewing, walking and boating. She had a huge heart and loved spending time with people, especially family and friends.

Linda grew up in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and attended a year of college at Missouri State University. She was united in marriage to Daniel Brown on March 12, 1966, in Merriam, Kansas. Two children were born to this union.

Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Sutherland.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Dan Brown of Blue Springs, Missouri, one daughter Leslie Brown of Denver, Colorado, one son, Dan Brown Jr. of Independence, Missouri, one grandson, Michael Brown, who attends college at Pittsburg State University, one brother, Gary Sutherland of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family would like to thank Linda’s wonderful physicians, nurses and healthcare workers at St. Luke’s East Hospital for all of their care and support.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home in Mountain Grove, Missouri, on September 11th. A celebration of life will be held in Blue Springs, Missouri, at the Elks Lodge on September 19th at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Friends of MS Achievement Center.
