Linda Kay Tate

Linda Kay Tate, daughter of the late Darrell and Frances (White) Starns, was born July 7, 1943 in Springfield, Missouri and departed this life on October 8, 2007 at her residence in Reeds Spring, Missouri. She was 64 years, 3 months, and 1 day of age.
Linda was raised in Mountain Grove, Missouri and graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1961. She married Ben Tate on October 28, 1961 in the First Baptist Church in Mountain Grove. Three sons were born to this union.
Ben and Linda spent the first twenty years of their married life in Shawnee, Kansas and the last twenty five years in Mountain Grove and Branson. While living in Mountain Grove, Linda owned and operated her own dress shop. When they moved to Branson, she and Ben opened The Cantina in Branson West then later opened Benny T’s. Linda especially enjoyed spending time working with the employees and visiting with the patrons. They also operated a craft booth in Silver Dollar City.
Linda dearly loved her family and enjoyed the time she spent with them, especially her grandkids. She loved decorating her home and restaurant, making holidays more special for her grandkids, family, and friends. She also enjoyed shopping and traveling.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband of the home: Ben Tate; three sons: Greg Tate and his wife, Diana, of Stilwell, Kansas, Daniel Tate of Reeds Spring, Missouri, and Chad Tate and his wife, Carissa, of Ozark, Missouri; seven grandchildren: Rachel, Shelby, Devin, Andrea, Joshua, Lillian, and Violet; one sister: Ann Pace and her husband, Neil, of Henderson, Nevada; and a host of other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
