No services are planned at this time. The family will be planning a Celebration of Life gathering at a later time. The family prefers no cut flowers be ordered or sent to the family.
Linda Kay (Parrish) Henningsen was born to William M. Lewis and Mary Vaughn February 23, 1952, but was adopted at birth by Perry E. and Mary G. (Hudson) Parrish. Linda passed away January 28, 2021, at Cox Health in Springfield, Missouri. She was 68 years, 11 months, and 5 days of age.
Linda lived in Germany as a child and learned the German culture and developed a love of German food. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in business and was self-employed. Her main business was in environmental landscaping but she also enjoyed refinishing and selling antiques. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, she loved German food but also loved seafood, and she loved animals. But her greatest love was her family.
Linda was preceded in death by her biological mother and father, Mary Mara and William Lewis, her adoptive parents, Perry and Mary Parrish, two half-siblings, Scott Mara and Mary “Chissy” Mara.
She is survived by her husband, James Henningsen of Hartville, Missouri, one son, Michael Parrish and his wife Wendy, three daughters, Dawn Kelley-Towler and her husband, John, Rachel Parrish, and Jamie Henningsen, two brothers, David Mara and Kenneth Mara, one sister, Rhonda Lewis, thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three aunts, Fran, Etta, and Dottie, and many other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.
Linda loved gardening and because of that love, the family requests no cut flowers to be sent. Linda loved live plants, but she would not want flowers to be cut because she didn’t want them to die.
