Linda Doan

Fordland, Missouri

Linda Kay (Dennison) Doan, daughter of Albert and Verna (Hodges) Dennison, was born August 24, 1953, in Tazewell County, Illinois. She passed away February 10, 2025, at her home in Fordland, Missouri, at 71 years of age.

Linda grew up in Illinois and graduated from Wyoming High School in 1970 at the age of 16. She attended Carl Sandburg College and received her LPN degree. Linda worked for a little while in the nursing field, but mainly she was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom. She loved taking care of her children. Linda was an excellent cook, and she enjoyed cooking for family and friends.

Almost thirty years ago Linda met her best friend and the love of her life, Randy Freeman. She truly loved and treasured the times they spent together.

When Linda was younger, she loved ice skating and taught her daughter, Andi, how to ice skate. She also loved to sing and was an avid reader. 

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Verna Dennison; two brothers, Albert and Mike; four sisters, Sharon, Carla, Donna, and Bonnie.

She is survived by her best friend and love of her life, Randy Freeman of Fordland, Missouri; one son, Dave Doan and his wife, Penny, of Cameron, Illinois; one daughter, Andi Rushing and her husband, Chris, of Galesburg, Illinois; one brother, Rick Dennison of the state of Arizona; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
