Linda Maxine Curtis, beloved daughter of the late John William Ellis and Ruth Faye Ellis (Volner), was born on December 27, 1950, and she departed this Earth to be with the Lord on Friday, March 14, 2025, during the lunar eclipse.
Linda was raised on her family farm in Manes, Missouri. It was there she met and married the love of her life, Delbert Curtis. They enjoyed 36 wonderful years together before Delbert’s passing in 2009. Throughout this time, Linda and Delbert were practically inseparable. They both loved everything outdoors. Oftentimes you would find them fishing and camping at Truman Lake, visiting over a cup of coffee, or playing card games with family and friends.
Linda had a great love of music and playing the guitar. She would sing while tending to her garden, cleaning her house, cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her husband, Delbert, would often play a tune on his harmonica, tapping his leg to the rhythm while she sang. Elvis Presley was undoubtedly Linda’s favorite musician of all time. She loved watching his movies and knew all his songs by heart. On the flip side, Garth Brooks was not to be brought up in HER household. Linda would delight in showing off the cucumbers grown in her garden. Ferns were her favorite plant, and she would say it was because they were “resilient”. Loved ones would say that was true of her as well.
Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Curtis; two brothers, Carl and Mack Ellis; two sisters, Bonnie Curtis and Janette Butram; and one son, Michael Rhodes.
She is survived by one brother, Levon Ellis; two daughters, Lesa Seams and husband, Tim, Debra Cooper and husband, Jason; one son, Carlton Curtis and wife, Lisa; seven grandchildren, Destinee Kinder, Kyelor Curtis, Madison Curtis, Karlee Curtis, Cali Curtis, Gunnar Seams, and Lindsay Reese; as well as her great-grandchildren. Linda will be remembered and cherished in the hearts of everyone she knew. “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” -Thomas Campbell.
The family will be having a private graveside service at a later time.
