Lila Sue Curtis, daughter of the late Otho Curtis and Beulah (Owens) Curtis, was born on August 18, 1954 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri and departed this life on August 26, 2013 in the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, following a short illness. She was 59 years and 8 days of age.
Lila grew up and attended school around Mtn. Grove and worked as a waitress at the Little House Restaurant in Mansfield and Dee’s Café in Mtn. Grove.
She enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and playing games with her friends and family.
Lila was saved at a young age while attending the Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church and had recently rededicated her life to the Lord.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a sister: Marilyn Riggs; a brother-in-law: Ed Kubisiak; and by a nephew: Ronald Christopher Curtis.
She is survived by her three sons: Kenny Bohannan and his wife, Cindy, of Lebanon, Missouri, Erick Friend of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Lee Friend and his wife, Robin, of Mtn. Grove; eight grandchildren; Brittany, Ashley, Autumn, Pammy, Chance, Austin, Kaylee, and Jaycee; two great-grandchildren: Braydon and Victoria; Lila’s mother: Beulah Curtis of Mtn. Grove; two brothers: Gene Curtis of Norwood, Missouri, and Reggie Curtis and his wife, Vi, of Mtn. Grove; three sisters: Nelda Kubisiak of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Joan Harker and her husband, Paul, and Joyce Nunn and her husband, Brent, all of Mtn. Grove; and other relatives, neighbors and friends who will sadly miss her.
