Lila Loretta (Cole) Wright

June 25, 1917 — January 31, 2014

Lila Loretta Wright, daughter of the late George and Clone (Hutcheson) Cole, was born on June 25, 1917 in Coldsprings, Missouri in Douglas County, and passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014 in the Hartville Care Center in Hartville, Missouri, at 96 years of age.
Lila grew up in Douglas County and attended a rural school until the eighth grade. She was united in marriage to James Walter Wright, on March 25, 1954, in Rock Island, Illinois. One daughter, Diane, was born to this union. James adopted Lila’s son Frank and together, he and Lila had a family of five children.
While Lila was living in Illinois, she was employed in janitorial work in Springfield, and retired after ten years. They later moved to Missouri, where they made their home in the Mtn. Grove area for several years.
Lila enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James Wright on January 25, 2004; an infant daughter: Diane; one step-son: Alphie Wright; one brother: Sammy Cole; and by three sisters: Eula Lambert, Anna Todd, and Mary Jo Denner.
She is survived by one son: Frank G. Wright and his longtime companion, Bernadine Wallace, of Norwood, Missouri; one step-son: Ralph Wright and his wife Joyce, of Chanute, Kansas; her daughter: Mary Jane Andor of the State of Washington; one daughter-in-law: Donna Wright of Mtn. Grove; one brother: Russell Cole of the State of Iowa; one sister: Jewel Smith of the State of Montana; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.


Funeral Service: Monday, February 3, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Burial: Pleasant Home Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions: Donor’s Choice c/o funeral home.
