Levan Jasper Hanna

December 19, 1928 — January 14, 2010

Levan Jasper Hanna, son of the late Samuel Elias and Myrtle Hanna, was born on December 19, 1928 in Ney, Ohio and departed this life on January 14, 2010 in the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, Missouri at 81 years and 25 days of age.
Levan grew up in Ney, Ohio and graduated from Ney High School in 1947. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Ussery on March 25, 1948 in Mtn. Home, Arkansas. One daughter was born to this union.
Levan served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged on May 31, 1955 as an Airman First Class. During his time in the military he was an Electronics Instructor and following his discharge, he worked for the Civil Service.
He and Dorothy moved to Mtn. Grove, Missouri in 1969 where he taught electronics in the Mtn. Grove Vocational School until 1990. His granddaughter, Darcy, referred to him as “Grandpa Robot.” Levan enjoyed being outdoors, especially when hunting and fishing. He was also a Ham Radio Operator for several years.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by those who knew and loved him.
At the time of his passing, he was a member of the Bethel Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Ford Peterson and Albert Hanna.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost sixty-two years: Dorothy Hanna of their home; his daughter and son-in-law: Patricia and Wendell Cook of Durham, Kansas; three grandchildren: Darcy Harris, Shayla Henrich, and Travis Cook; five great-grandchildren: Austin, Kaela, Taeler, Mackenna, and Caedyn; and many other relatives and friends.

Monday, January 18th, 2:00 PM in teh Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Sunday, January 17th, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM in the funeral home.

Willow Springs Cemetery
