Letha Frances Hume

Letha F. Hume, daughter of Otis Helms and Faye (Coots) Helms, was born September 18, 1948, in Seymour, Missouri, and departed this life September 28, 2023, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 75 years and 10 days.

On August 5, 1967, she was united in marriage to Marshal Damon Hume and to this union 3 sons were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Damon Michael Hume and Damon Dwayne Hume, brother, Dirl Helms, and sister, Doloris Owens.

Letha is survived by her husband, Damon; son, Harold Hume and wife, Mandie of Seymour; granddaughter, Shelby Sicilia and husband, Joe, of El Paso, Texas; sister, Sue Kanel and husband, George, of Seymour, Missouri; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was born in Seymour and graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1967. She worked in several factories including H.D. Lee, Litton Industries.

Letha made a profession of faith in Christ many years ago, was a faithful Christian, and attended Assembly of God.

In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, doing arts and crafts, and loved to fish.

Letha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and have many memories of special times we had together.
