Lester Frances Carder, son of the late Jacob and Mary Elizabeth (Quesenbery) Carder, was born on December 26, 1920 in Wright County, Missouri in the Green Mountain Community. He passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at his residence in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 91 years, and 7 months of age.
Lester grew up in the Green Mountain area and attended the Rayborn School. He was united in marriage to Edna Mae Carder on December 15, 1941 in Wright County. Seven children were born to this union. Mrs. Carder passed away on August 29, 1978.
Lester was a farmer for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors, doing farm chores and tending to his beef cattle. He worked at various jobs, such as, doing road work for Wright County, digging graves, and plowing area garden spots for his neighbors with his horses. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and riding horses and mules.
Lester attended the Crossroads of Faith Church, north of Mtn. Grove as long his health permitted. He enjoyed visiting and spending time with his family and friends.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons: Ronald D. Carder and Kenneth Carder; one daughter: Imogene Carder; two brothers: Snowden Carder and Farris Carder; four sisters: Ada Lathrom, Rosetta Carder, Ava Carder, and Etta Dobbs; two grandchildren: Sheila Carder and Johnny Miller.
He is survived by one son: Gary Carder and his wife, Pam, of Norwood, Missouri; three daughters: Geraldine Volner and her husband, Ulas, of Mtn. Grove, Loretta Stout and her husband, Rick, of Drury, Missouri, and Janet Miller and her husband, Bob, of Mtn. Grove; one sister: Dorless Merriman of Green Mountain, Missouri; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren: a close friend: Mary; and a host of other relatives, neighbors and friends who will sadly miss him.
